Disney+ streaming service plans sitcom set in Wisconsin

APPLETON (WKOW) -- Disney`s streaming service, Disney+, is developing a comedy set in Northeast Wisconsin.

Our Green Bay affiliate, WBAY, reports the series titled "The Biggest Star in Appleton" will feature Kristen Chenoweth. Chenoweth is an Emmy and Tony-award winning star.

Deadline reports will play a Wisconsin mom, wife and waitress who discovers small-town stardom in the community theater. She feels threatened when a struggling New York chorus girl moves to town.

WBAY said there`s no timeline for the series premiere and there`s also no guarantee the series will air on Disney`s streaming service.

Ken Notes: This is funny because I used to watch William Defoe do plays in Appleton and Milwaukee thought he was great.
