Wisconsin ranks among best states for start-up businesses

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The odds a start-up business has at staying afloat are better in Wisconsin than in other states.

That`s according to an analysis done by the chief economist for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

Wisconsin ranks in the top third in the country when it comes to private establishment growth in the last decade as well as net business creation.

In Eau Claire, the city makes it easy for businesses to get up and going with a wide variety of loans, grants and programs available.

City officials said start-ups are essential for the city`s economic foundation.
