More than 150,000 people filed claims for unemployment benefits in Wisconsin last week. Roughly 37,000 claims were filed in just the first two days of this week. And for most people, it was the first time they’ve applied for benefits.
The process can be complicated and time-consuming in the best of times, and just now is far removed from that. The Department of Workforce Development’s system is overwhelmed by the onslaught of claims....
