Businesses look to Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation for re-opening guidence

RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WXPR) Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Secretary Missy Hughes says businesses should be looking toward her agency as they open up for business.

Hughes says the virus cuts across county lines and she says business owners should consider some options. "That`s where WEDC`s guidelines can be helpful because businesses can stand in the middle of their shop or cafe and think about `what to I need to change to help my employees feel safe and my customers feel safe?"

Hughes says many people thought they would have more time to consider what to do under the Badger Bounce Back plan presented by Governor Evers. When the state Supreme Court reopened the state right away, many people were looking for guidance on what to do says Hughes.

Ken Notes: WEDC has taken on a new role as the pandemic impacts us all. I hope the focus on smaller and rural Wisconsin continues and we can get development and employment growth incentives for all Wisconsin businesses back on the table, but it does look like Hughes has turned the ship in that direction. Time will tell.
