Community partners work together to solve the childcare crisis


WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - Childcare continues to be an ongoing issue for many across the country and in central Wisconsin. Now, six community partners are joining forces to discuss the lack of childcare accessibility. It’s part of the Marathon County Community Conversation on Childcare.

The North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board is taking action to battle childcare issues.

Ken Notes: One of the great challenges in Wisconsin is developing diverse neighborhoods with the infrastructure and housing to support our workforce. We have too many communities with expensive homes and restrictive covenants that prevent our service and retail workers from living anywhere nearby. Then we complain that we can not find employees, services, or other things we need to sustain our businesses and lifestyles.
