A stretch of East North Avenue that is a popular nightlife area ? and a site of many car crashes involving pedestrians ? would get a public plaza and other traffic calming improvements under a new proposal from Mayor Cavalier Johnson`s administration.The plan, which needs Common Council approval, calls for $3.9 million to be spent within and near a tax incremental financing district centered on North Avenue between North Cambridge and North Oakland avenues.
That cash would be generated by three new apartment developments that are in the works for a portion of North Avenue just east of the Milwaukee River...
