Milwaukee-based Froedtert and Neenah-based ThedaCare, two Wisconsin health systems, have signed a definitive agreement to merge into an 18-hospital system. The organizations aim to launch the combined health system at the start of 2024, pending pre-closing conditions and board and regulatory approvals.
"Creating healthier communities throughout Wisconsin will take a lot of work … [and] we are excited to continue the process of bringing our locally led healthcare organizations together, working in concert with the Medical College of Wisconsin," Froedtert President and CEO Cathy Jacobson said in a Sept. 6 news release.
