Stevens Point seeks public input for downtown improvement opportunities


STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) - Downtown Stevens Point’s Business Improvement District will be hosting staff from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s (WEDC) Main Street program from Feb. 5-7, to thoroughly review the downtown area for improvement opportunities.

To prepare for the visit, the Downtown Business Improvement District is requesting input from people in Stevens Point, including business owners and property owners in downtown, by completing this survey by Jan. 29.

Downtown Stevens Point became a Main Street Community in the middle of 2023, giving the district access to resources including historic architectural design assistance, targeted business consultation programs, and district-wide economic development strategies. In the first year of the program, downtown Stevens Point business and property owners accessed $22,550 worth of direct services and training opportunities, while the average Wisconsin community accessed only $13,725...
