Spectrum is laying off 173 Milwaukee-based employees with a call center closing

The company which operates Spectrum cable TV and broadband services is laying off 173 Milwaukee-based employees.

Stamford, Connecticut-based Charter Communications Inc. is closing a residential retention call center, according to a new layoff notice filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

That call center is part of the company`s operations at 1320 N. King Drive. The rest of those operations are remaining open, according to the notice.

The layoffs are to begin on March 28.
