Cornell City Council - Three of Brunet Estates lots snatched up for development


By Ginna Young It was good news for all concerned March 7, at the Cornell City Council meeting, as an offer was acted on from Better Built Inc., to purchase Lots 7, 8 and 9, of Brunet Estates, for the asking price of $38,501. The builder plans on constructing spec homes on the lots, all at once, which will help with the housing shortage and place the property on the taxroll.

“I’m glad to see them get developed,” said city administrator Dave De-Jongh.

Members also approved an amended engineering agreement with Cedar Corp., for the Bates and N. Fifth streets projects, as the rules were “changed up.” Before applying for a grant, the city must now complete an environmental review study, which is included in the engineering proposal.
