New passenger train arrivals and departures in a partnership with Minnesota, Wisconsin and IllinoisST. PAUL, Minn., and CHICAGO – Tickets are now available for a second daily Amtrak service between the Twin Cities and Chicago, via Milwaukee: new state-sponsored Borealis trains originate from St. Paul at midday and from Chicago in the late morning. Travelers seeking a more comfortable, sustainable and productive choice than driving will have double the current rail options, starting May 21, 2024. Amtrak Borealis trains will offer Coach and Business Class in addition to a café car featuring regional items. The Growing MKE Plan is the result of a year-long planning process to propose updates to the City of Milwaukee’s Comprehensive Plan and make recommendations for future updates to Milwaukee’s zoning code to encourage housing growth and choice throughout Milwaukee. Cinnaire Solutions to purchase and rehabilitate Madison`s homeless housing projects | |||||||||
ith a deadline looming, a nonprofit is poised to buy the two biggest but financially challenged projects for the homeless in Madison with most residents already moved out and a different tenant mix envisioned for the future. Cinnaire Solutions, with core operations in Madison, is moving to purchase and rehabilitate the 60-unit Rethke Terrace project for homeless singles and veterans on the East Side and the 45-unit Tree Lane Apartments for homeless families on the Far West Side for roughly $7.5 million. The $7.5 million includes funds to buy the properties and return them to use, including repairs, replenishment of operating reserves and addressing an existing lien at the Tree Lane site. The City of Madison’s Healthy Retail Access Program provides funding for businesses that increase access to affordable, healthy, and culturally appropriate food. Under the program, funds can be used for any new service, equipment, building improvements, or programs that can increase a business’ capacity to provide healthy food, specifically in areas that are identified in the City’s Food Access Improvement Map. The center will treat children with delays in speech and motor skills and children with learning or behavioral disordersWAUWATOSA, Wis. — Children`s Wisconsin opened a new Center for Child Development in Wauwatosa on Monday to better care for children with developmental diagnoses.The new center is relocating and expanding from its current location at the Lilly Center in Brookfield near Lilly Road and North Avenue. It is now located at 1250 N. 113th St., Suite 200, in Wauwatosa.
